Project: Glimmer
A downloadable game for Windows
Something is still working in the dark.
The lights are still on. The gates still open on their timers. And one small machine still goes down into the deep every cycle, carrying a lamp - the last moving light in a world gone very quiet.
PROJECT: GLIMMER is a lantern-lit survival roguelite. Descend, and cut cold light out of the rock. When night falls, something in the dark comes for your warmth; build, hold, and keep Lux, your guardian, between you and it. Reach dawn. Secure the Shard. Carry the light home. Then go back down.
- Light is life - everything you do burns the energy that keeps your lamp lit. Run bright and be seen. Run dim and see less. Run dry, and you are exposed.
- Hold the night- turrets, walls, and a guardian who won't stay down, against whatever the noise of your work draws up.
- Go deeper - roguelite runs, permanent upgrades, and a dark that gives up its secrets one floor at a time.
- Find the record - something down there kept an account of what happened, for anyone who cares to piece it together.
Go down. Take up the light. Hold it against the dark. Bring it home.
Sooner or later, you'll start to wonder who it's for.
This is an early testing build. Expect rough edges, expect bugs, and expect saves not to survive every update. What testers do with it decides what gets built next.
Photosensitivity warning: this game uses flashing light, flickering screen effects and screen shake throughout. Screen shake can be reduced or switched off in Settings.
Run data: the game can send gameplay records (how a floor ended, ore and kill counts, upgrades taken, energy spent) plus a random install id, to help balance the difficulty. Never your name, your email, your accounts, or anything about your computer. You're asked once, on first launch, before the game starts - and you can change the answer any time in Settings → SHARE RUN DATA. Full details in the privacy notice linked below.
Video: record it, stream it, monetize it. No permission needed.
AI disclosure: the placeholder music in this game was generated with Google's AI. Every sprite, all of the code, and all of the writing are hand-made.
Feedback: your read on this changes what gets built next. There's a FEEDBACK link on the title screen - a short form, about two minutes, pre-tagged with your build number so nothing gets read against the wrong version. Bugs, clips, and everything else: come to the Discord.

Download
Install instructions
Windows
- Download the zip.
- Unzip it anywhere.
- Run
Project Glimmer.exe.
That's the whole game in one file - no installer, and nothing is written outside the game's own save folder. Windows will probably warn you it's from an unknown publisher: it's an unsigned indie build, so choose "More info" → "Run anyway" if you're comfortable with that. (Unsigned is normal for a free test build; code-signing certificates cost real money.)
Controls: WASD move · SHIFT dash · LMB turret · RMB wall · WHEEL turn wall · C pylon · E interact · Q install · R lamp · F flare · TAB field log · F11 fullscreen.
All of this is also in Settings → CONTROLS.
